We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: I’m still stuck on Outlander series finale. And the scene where Jamie and Claire are talking about the bees went by almost unnoticed—and it turned out to be the key to everything.
Shana: What if I just said every single time we went back to Jade’s trip in FROM Season 4 Episode 5? I guess if I had to pick a specific part of it, it would be when Jade first spots his 12-year-old self in the clearing and remembers playing the violin for his grandmother. Just beautifully acted (guess who my “Best Performance of the Week” answer is about to be…), beautifully scored, and absolutely heartbreaking.
The horror and the mystery would just be empty shock value stuff without so many grounded, human moments. And this was definitely such an important scene to lead us right into learning some answers and—yes—getting that creepy moment in the tunnel with the Creatures, too. Besides, I just love that music is such a huge part of this character’s development in general.
Erin: I am still in my Off Campus era and I keep thinking about Dean and Allie. Like can I talk about how great they are? I think that as much as I live in my Hannah and Garrett, in my rewatches I am living in the Dean and Allie of it all. So I have been thinking about their time in the photo booth and the “tell me what you want allie-cat” of it all. That scene lives rent free in my head cause you can tell how much they have changed and how they need each other there.
Amanda P.: It was such a small scene in the scheme of things, but I was really moved by Elliot’s conversation with Young Vic on The Way Home. It’s arguably the only time he ever saw his father in a gentler, more tender light, and you can see the effect it has on him. It can’t erase the pain, but it gives more dimension.
Rachel: I think the opening action sequence of The Mandalorian and Grogu is going to be my answer for this one. This week, Star Wars returned to the big screen and this scene was a great way to begin. Din being bad*ss, Grogu being completely adorable, bits of humor, exciting physical stunts– all of it was so much fun. Reminiscent of the Original Trilogy in the best way. I could easily gush about romantic stuff in The Other Bennet Sister or Off Campus but this week is about a galaxy far, far away for me!
Ship of the Week

Shana: I’m going to go ahead and go full vengeance demon here. Dr. Grove’s chest and that knife. (The Testaments).
Erin: Still in my Off Campus Era and I am still in my Hannah and Garrett world.
Raquel: I just started watching Off Campus—yes, I know, way too late—and, like Erin, Garret and Hannah? One episode and I’m already obsessed.
Amanda P.: I, too, am way behind and just got started on Off Campus, but for me, it’s Dean and Allie. They’ve got such a playful, electrifying chemistry that steals every scene they’re in.
Rachel: Like almost everyone else, yes, I’m still thinking about both ships– Hannah/Garrett and Dean/Allie– from Off Campus. That’s how good they are and how good the show is. I also want to add that Mary/Tom on The Other Bennet Sister had a strong episode this week, too, with Tom yearning over Mary at a ball. (While he has an “understanding” with another woman, but still!) The man even breathed in her scent as they were dancing. You can expect this ship to be my answer here more times in the future! (And, Shana, your answer in this category is diabolical!)
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: Still in awe of Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. They made the Outlander journey worthwhile.
Shana: David Alpay in FROM. He had a very delicate line to walk, between needing viewers to believe Jade was most definitely affected by those mushrooms and actually grounding the important emotional moments in sharp, clear reality. Nailed it.
Lizzie: Tatiana Maslany shines in Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. I know it feels like there’s so much to watch, and it’s hard to figure out what deserves your attention, but Tatiana Maslany should always have our attention, and this show is a fun, exhilarating ride.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: I still hate the ending for Jamie & Claire—and the rest of the characters—in STARZ’s Outlander series finale.
Shana: I mean, this one’s both annoying and depressing: Colbert, like, actually ended. Considering the optics behind that cancellation…[expletives deleted].
Lizzie: I’m with Shana here. And Colbert went out in style, and it was kinda great to see his last few shows, but boy… he will be missed.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “Would you look in on me?” “Maybe just a wee glance, sassenach” — Claire and Jamie in Outlander.
Shana: Stephen Colbert’s whole final address to the audience…but especially this part: “We love doing this show for you, but what we really, really love is doing this show with you.”
Rachel: “I try to avoid violence.” “Of course you do.”– The Mandalorian and Grogu.
