We know that it’s the beginning of the summer, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t look forward to September. We can thank Prime Video for that one.
Casually trying to beat the heat today in New York, we opened our email and Instagram to find that the release date for The Love Hypothesis had been announced.
September 23rd you say? We’re marking the date on our calendar right now. As if that wasn’t enough, Prime Video followed up with Cosmo releasing some first look photos.
“Nobody freak out, but we have an exclusive first look at the upcoming film adaptation of ‘The Love Hypothesis’! And clearly that includes a look at the leads’ iconic first kiss!” the caption reads, “The film, which stars @lilireinhart and and Tom Bateman, follows PhD student Olive Smith, who decides to fake-date biology professor Dr. Adam Carlsen to prove to her BFF that her dating life exists. Their spontaneous kiss sparked the ultimate fake relationship.”
It then continues, “‘I had the best time with Tom, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in all of this. He is the complete opposite of Adam in real life so seeing him tap into this darker version of himself was very fun to watch,’ Lili said.”
“Bringing Adam to life was such fun. Though he comes across as cold and unfeeling at first, he is only hiding behind a self-built wall of protection,” Tom noted in the first look on Cosmopolitan. “Exploring his vulnerabilities and his journey toward letting someone get close to him was really exciting to play.”
The Love Hypothesis premieres on Prime Video on September 23, 2026.
