As soon as NBC revealed the new shows coming next year, The Rockford Files reboot caught our attention from the very first second. We always want to see David Boreanaz on our screens, we can’t deny it. So, if you’re like us and you’re ready for this show to become your next obsession, here’s everything we know about the series.
The Rockford Files Season 1 is a contemporary update on the classic series of the same name. James Rockford is finally out of prison after serving time for a crime he never committed. Back in Los Angeles, he returns to private investigation, hoping to rebuild a life that was put on hold for years.
It doesn’t take long for him to fall into old habits. Rockford keeps digging when others would rather look the other way, and that tendency has a way of creating problems. As he takes on new cases, he finds himself caught between the police and the criminals who would do almost anything to keep the truth from coming out.
The series stars David Boreanaz as Jim Rockford, Michaela McManus as Kate, Felix Solis as Nitty, two-time Academy Award nominated Jacki Weaver—in an unknown role—and Mandi Christine Kerr as Nikki Herro. Writer Mike Daniels executive produces with Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman.
Chris Leanza is co-executive producer. Director Greg Mottola also executive produces—pilot only. The Rockford Files is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
