Inanna Sarkis has booked her next role. She’s set for a role in Beach Read, alongside Phoebe Dynevor and Patrick Schwarzenegger. She also joins previously announced Andie MacDowell, Kevin Bacon, Kristin Davis, and Tig Notaro.
Deadline reported, “Sarkis will play Shadi, the best friend of Dynevor’s January.”
Sarkis confirmed who she’ll be playing on social media.
“Some news I’ve been dying to share….” she wrote, “Beyond excited to join Beach Read as Shadi. It’s incredibly special to play a character whose roots feel so close to mine and to be part of a story that means so much to so many readers, including me.”
She then added, “Thank you to @emilyhenrywrites for creating these characters and to our amazing team for trusting me with Shadi. I can’t wait for you all to meet her xx”
The basics of the story are that January and Gus are two authors. They have been living next door to each other for three months, and each one is suffering from a bad case of writer’s block. January is unable to write the romance novel she needs to, and for Gus, the Great American Novel seems impossible. So, in an effort to cure the writer’s block, they switch genres. They’ll help each other through this, and no one will fall in love (ya, right, we know the trope and the setup).
Sarkis previously starred in After, After We Collided, Maintenance Required, and Marked Men, just to name a few. Her upcoming film, The Ascent, which also stars Gregg Sulkin, is supposed to premiere this year.
Beach Read releases exclusively in theaters on May 7, 2027.
