We knew that it would be a matter of time before Netflix found their spicy hockey show to make, but we have to admit that we’re a little surprised with the road that they are taking. The streamer has decided to make a series out of Hannah Grace‘s Icebreaker.
The gist of the show? Well, “Follows Anastasia Allen, a competitive figure skater aiming for Olympic gold, who is forced to share the rink with Nate Hawkins, a hockey player determined to go pro, as ambition and attraction collide.”
We do know this – hockey players reading passages of Ice Breaker and reacting has been one of our favorite things on the internet.

Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy fame has signed on to produce alongside her husband, Matt Kaplan.
Amanda Lasher has been set as showrunner. She’s produced such shows as Gossip Girl and The Bold Type. Jade Bartlett will co-write.
“I have been a fan of steamy YA since the 7th grade; reading Judy Blume stealthily hidden behind a text book,” Lasher said in a statement. “I love this genre, and it’s been a joy working with Jade, the team at Unwell and Netflix to bring Hannah Grace’s beloved Icebreaker novel to the screen.”
Bartlett added, “It’s been such a joy to play in Hannah Grace’s world of Icebreaker; a story filled with ambitious, talented, and undeniably sexy characters. But the real special sauce is that, above all, they are good, deeply compassionate people….and we cannot get enough of them. Hannah has created the kind of world you want to live in, and Amanda and I are having an absolute romp with our incredible teams at Unwell and Netflix bringing this cherished story to the screen.”
