The Pogues are about to get revenge for the tragic death of JJ in Outer Banks Season 5. And we’re not ready thanks to the first look trailer, images, synopsis, and date announcement Netflix just dropped.
In the first look trailer we get to see a multitude of shots of the aftermath of JJ’s passing. Of course, there’s the pain of it all. JJ was a key member of the Pogues and loved dearly by all of them. His friends are going to want revenge. And then there’s Kiara. Her and JJ were just starting to really dive into their romantic journey. Unfortunately for all of them, JJ’s dad Chandler Groff is a coward who killed JJ out of spite.
There’s also a bunch of questions regarding how this is all going to end. Because of course the Kooks are trying to make it hard for the Pogues to just live their lives. And one Kook in particular is still around, probably going to be messier than ever. Yes, we’re talking about Rafe, who keeps coming back like a bad rash no matter what. But let’s concentrate on how cool Cleo looked walking away from John B’s exploding ride. That will heal us from the Rafe of it all.

Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo must rely on their scrappy instincts—and an uneasy alliance with Rafe—to keep from falling apart for good. Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning.
