The story centers on Mickey, a sharp and cynical Los Angeles private eye with a knack for solving cases. He was formerly a successful LAPD cop but his life imploded three years ago. That sends his career in a different direction.
The series stars Jake Johnson as Mickey, Jane Levy as Faye, Langston Kerman as Justin Royal, Mary Shalaby as Raya, and Keith David as Garner Taggert. Writers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici will executive produce. Director Akiva Schaffer also executive produces—pilot only. Sunset P.I. is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The Plot:
According to the synopsis, Sunset P.I. Season 1 centers on a group of unorthodox private investigators in Los Angeles and “continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show.”

Release Date:
It’s official! Sunset P.I. will premiere this February on NBC. We don’t know the exact date yet, though. So we’ll be keeping an eye!
