There are moments when doing the right thing feels almost impossible because every option leaves someone hurting. That’s what happen in Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed.’ We knew Miles’ confession would change everything. What we didn’t expect was just how lonely that truth would make Elle feel.
So this episode is about discovering that love and loyalty don’t always point in the same direction. And sometimes the hardest decision isn’t giving your heart to someone—it’s refusing to, even when every part of you wants to. Ready?
Here we go!
Elle Refuses to Become the Reason Shannon Loses Everything

Miles finally says out loud that he doesn’t want to keep pretending anymore. Telling Shannon about what happened between him and Elle at her mother’s funeral may have destroyed one relationship, but, in his mind, it also means there’s nothing left to hide. Shannon knows the truth, she’s no longer in town, and in Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ for the first time, he allows himself to believe that maybe he and Elle finally have a chance.
The problem is that Miles and Elle aren’t standing on the same page. We understand why Miles keeps trying to get closer to her. He made his choice. He listened to his heart, accepted the consequences, and now he wants to fight for the girl he truly wants to be with. Finally, he’s not playing games anymore or trying to have both relationships at once. As messy as everything has become, Miles is finally acting as he should.
But that doesn’t erase the pain all this mess caused.
And Elle knows that. That’s why in Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ she tries to find Shannon. And discovering that she’s already left town hurts Elle so much. There’s no chance to explain. No opportunity to apologize face to face. And no way to tell Shannon how deeply she wishes none of this had happened. Elle understands why, but still.
So Elle is determined to keep the distance for Miles. For Shannon. She means a lot for her, she’s her friend keeping the distance from Miles it’s a matter of respect. And we like that.
It would have been so easy for Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ to reward the romance now that Shannon knows the truth and is no longer around. Instead, the show reminds us that a friend is more important than a guy. Sometimes the strongest proof of friendship it’s having the strength to stay apart from the guy you like for the sake of your friend.
Elle Never Stops Showing Up for the People She Loves

One of the things Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ keeps proving is that our personal problems don’t stop the rest of life from happening. Elle would have every excuse to fall apart after everything that’s happened with Shannon and Miles. Instead, she does what she always does: she keeps moving forward, especially when someone else needs her.
That’s why the investigation surrounding Principal Anderson becomes such a fun contrast to all the mess. We spend so much of Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ seeing Elle struggle with guilt. So it’s satisfying to see her throw herself into something she can actually control. Solving a mystery may not fix her friendship with Shannon, but at least it’s a problem where determination and teamwork can make a difference.
And speaking of teamwork… we absolutely love seeing this gang come together! One of the biggest strengths of the show are the friendships, and this episode reminds us why. Everyone brings something different to the table and seeing them combine their strengths is fun and awesome. That doesn’t mean we’re relaxed, though.
Seeing Elle and Kimberly working side by side in Elle Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Whoever Said Orange Is The New Pink Was Seriously Disturbed’ is everything we wanted after the tension between them earlier in the season. Their new dynamic it’s a reminder of how much stronger they are when they’re trusting each other instead of being mean.
But we know that, when Kimberly finds out what happened between Elle and Miles, all the progress they made will disappear overnight. Their friendship has finally found solid ground, and we’d hate to watch it crumble for the exact same reason that shattered Elle and Shannon. For now, though, we’re choosing to enjoy seeing them work together again while we still can.
