We have to learn that common sense is not common. We would think that people would know that you DO NOT contact people’s families. Doesn’t matter if a person is a public person, their significant others, their family, and friends are off limits. And reaching out to a significant other’s family, that is crossing a line.
A big line.
Raina Morris is an accomplished TV writer. She is also Off Campus star Belmont Cameli’s girlfriend. She’s a person who deserves respect and privacy. Yes, she is in social posts, yes, he interacts with her online, and yes, others from the show also do it. But that doesn’t mean that she or her family are open season for fandom contacting.
We do commend her for addressing the issue of people reaching out to her family.
“If you are a fan of my boyfriend: Yay!” she wrote on her Instagram story, “Please stop messaging my family members. They are so confused.”

Definitely thought this was common sense, but here we are. She shouldn’t have to write things like this, but we seemed to have too much faith in people.
Let’s do better fandom.
