D23 announced some significant casting for Disney’s original magical coming-of-age saga, Disney’s Hexed. Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush and Hailee Steinfeld (Sinners, True Grit) took the stage to make announcements. Steinfeld was the previously announced voice of the film’s lead, Billie Doe. Billie is an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl who discovers secret magical abilities.
Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones star in Hexed. Hexed follows a teenage oddball and her Type A mom, who discover her weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.
Bush and Steinfeld welcomed Walton Goggins (Fallout, The White Lotus) to the stage. It was revealed that he will voice the new character Beef Roger Crummchuk. Beef is a reclusive, magical three-eyed cat who forges an uneasy alliance with Billie and her cautious mother Alice. They embark on a spectacle-filled journey out of suburbia and into a vast magical realm called Hexe.
