Netflix attended Anime NYC 2026 and brought some fresh shows, new adaptations, and announced sequels. Also, there were lot of trailers and images we got for everything Bass X Machina to Blue Eye Samurai and Fool Proof. Because anime, like all animation, has always been an underrated medium to bring to life stories about humanity, hope, love, and everything that comes with the human experience.
So join me in talking about the upcoming Netflix anime slate below presented at this panel. And yes, I have favorites and included a couple details about cast members who dropped by in NYC!
Bass X Machina
Bryan Tyree Henry stars as Bass, a father forced to become judge, jury, and executioner in a lawless Steampunk West. To protect his family he faces brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors. And at Anime NYC 2026 we got an official teaser trailer and official images that show how rich this world is.
Joining him in the cast are Tati Gabrielle as Dana, Currie Graham as Rivenbark, Cree Summer as Ahni, Janelle Monáe as Glory, Chaske Spencer as Lighthorse, and Starletta DuPois. Notably, Monáe also does the theme song for the anime. And we got see the first 5 minutes of the series. Trust me when I say, the action is peak.

Blue Eye Samurai
The Emmy-winning series Blue Eye Samurai debuted an official teaser for Season 2 of the series. Last we left off the warrior Mizu confronted the Season 1 main antagonist Abijah Fowler. And he gave her a lead to her next target: London. From what we see in the official teaser trailer, her journey across the sea is not easy at all.
While we got a trailer, we also got some new images of what’s to come. And even better, we got an announcement that Blue Eye Samurai is coming back for a final third season. That’s set to premiere in 2028.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2
We’re heading back to Night City in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. And we’re doing it with a new crew of mercenaries in a standalone story arc that chronicles redemption and revenge in a city that thrives on violence.
If you were at Anime NYC you got see the first couple minutes of the upcoming season. If you weren’t there, that’s ok. Netflix released an official teaser. And they sweetened the deal with some images as well!

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres October 20th.
Fool Night
If you love body horror Fool Night might be the anime for you. Adapted from the manga from Kasumi Yasuda, it tells the story of a young man living in a world of darkness after a thick layer of clouds made it so there’s no sunlight. That caused plants to die and oxygen to struggle. But humans found a solution called transfloration where humans are allowed to transform into plants. And you get taken care of for the 2 years it takes you to transform if you choose this path.
At Anime NYC they revealed another official teaser and some images. But the real star of what they shared was a featurette that showed how the studios behind this thought about color and light in a world perpetually in the dark. Basically, the art is some of the most stunning we’ve seen in ages.

LEGO® ONE PIECE
Lego One Piece is my personal favorite on this list because Jacob Romero Gibson actually made an appearance at Anime NYC to talk about the upcoming mini series. To the chants of “Usopp, Usopp, Usopp” he helped introduce the official trailer. And it’s looking like a fun time as we experience the totally accurate events of One Piece through the eyes of Captain Usopp.

SAKAMOTO DAYS
We’re getting more of Taro Sakamoto in Sakamoto Days Season 2. And we return to this series Sakamoto and Shin infiltrate JCC to uncover intelligence on the elusive figure known as “X.” And at Anime NYC, they gave us a new character trailer that teases undercover missions and three new faces.

THE ONE PIECE
And finally The One Piece. It’s going to be a new anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved pirate saga. And it’s going to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue Saga. Though we didn’t get a trailer, we did get some key art that honors the first One Piece manga and original anime.
