Amazon MGM Studios is not playing around these days. They are feeding the romance community by adapting so many books that are loved. The latest – the first book in Lauren Asher’s Dirty Air series, Throttled. And they’ve cast a name that will make Off Campus fans scream.
Josh Heuston, who plays Justin Kohl in Off Campus has joined the Throttled cast. If you aren’t familiar with Throttled, it tells the high stakes forbidden romance between racing up-and-comer Noah Slade and Maya Alatorre, the sister of one of his rivals.

“I’m most excited to see Noah and Maya’s romance unfold while exploring the Dirty Air world and its characters,” Author Lauren Asher said to PEOPLE. “As both a motorsports fan and an avid romance reader who loves watching book adaptations, I’m thrilled that there will be a romance movie set in the racing world. I think fans of the series will be just as excited as me when they see some of my favorite scenes from the book playing out on the screen.”

Nzingha Stewart will be directing the project. Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions are producing along with Ethea Entertainment’s Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay. Garrett Grant is also producing, with Alison Small of Brownstone Productions and Asher executive producing.
Melissa Osborne, who wrote Prime Video’s My Fault: London has adapted the book.
Lauren Asher has sold more than five million books worldwide and the Dirty Air series being translated into 14 languages. In addition to Throttled (2020) – the series also includes Collided (2020), Wrecked (2020) and Redeemed (2021).
