Love is Blind Season 11 tests what it means to fall in love…again. Do looks, money, and other things matter when it comes to matters of the heart? Or can you fall in love with someone sight unseen? Again, we are watching a bunch of hopefuls navigate these questions in Season 11 of the series. And since we can’t control ourselves (as evidenced by our breakdown of the first 5 episodes and Episodes 6 through 8), here is our breakdown of episodes 9 through 11 of Season 11!

1. The end of Rob and Michaella is here. What was the breaking point or point of no return?

Lizzie: This man gave me a bad feeling from the beginning, but for a while there, he was doing a good job of masking what an asshole he was. Of course, it all collapsed as soon as he got together with his friends and he stopped censoring himself. But I don’t even think it was just that he drank too much (both times), or that he’s generally an entitled ass who believes the world owes him attention and deference (which he does); it’s that he’s got absolutely no capacity to think or worry about anyone but himself.
He tried to play woe is me as he was explaining what happened, but all I heard were excuses and zero accountability. He was downright scary at the party, to the point that the other men were all taken aback. And to be clear, the other men thought he was an asshole before! But men like Rob show their best side to other men, so they had no idea of how bad it was.
Also, why did anyone let Michaella go back home with him alone? Did production tag along? Were there cameras? Otherwise, I’m super concerned about what Love is Blind is doing to protect contestants. Michaella was doing this thing women do to placate volatile men, and it was very triggering to see her have to resort to that. I think the other women tried, but I’m not sure I believe the show had her back, and that’s very concerning. We’ve already had very serious accusations on this show before. There’s gotta be safeguards.
Anyway, good on Michaella for dumping him right then and there. Rob, you are getting cancelled, and you deserve it.
Lyra: The drinking was the point of no return for Michaella when it came to Rob.
You can tell a lot about a man by the way that he treats his friends. And I’m not just talking about in the good times either. I’m taking about when your friend is hammered, making inappropriate comments to your fiance, and still asking for more drinks. That’s when you step up and tell your friend to stop. Because you care for him. But you also care for your fiancee and creating an environment that isn’t unsafe. That’s not Rob in Love is Blind Season 11.
Instead, Rob didn’t step in. He didn’t tell his friend to stop or make sure his fiancee was ok. Instead he got super aggressive when his friend was cut off, kept drinking, and then started picking a fight with Michaella. Then at the party he drank excessively again and let his insecurities create an environment that made everyone uncomfortable. And he was so over the top at that party that production needed to step in and make sure Michaella was safe instead of just letting her go off alone with him to their apartment.
It was just an entire mess, without even taking into consideration the way that Rob apparently badmouthed Michaella when the cameras weren’t on about her intentions on Love is Blind. He made her feel unsafe, and that’s enough. Like, Rob made John look like a good partner. JOHNNNNN! EVEN STEW LOOKED BETTER! Like, this is how over the top he was. Truly, that Boston dating pool has to be abysmal if this is what ends up on the Boston season of this show.
2. Can we take a moment to talk about John’s apartment? Because choices were made by production and by John and Sarah.

Lizzie: Top 3 most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life: that apartment. And when he said, “Why should I clean the shower, the shower cleans me?” that was it. I was done. I would have run out of there. Sarah is way too nice, offering to teach a grown-ass anti-vaxer who drinks raw milk how to clean. I thought you didn’t want a man you had to fix, Sarah! Because this is what you got with John.
Look, the shower and the fridge and the sink are all indicative of the same thing: John’s a child who doesn’t want a wife; he wants a mom to take care of him. And Sarah deserves better than to spend the rest of her life taking care of a man-child. Sometimes we gotta park the empathy and be selfish.
Lyra: Wasn’t there a promo for Love is Blind Season 11 where they made it seem like Wilnie’s apartment was the filthy one? That certainly was a choice and not a good one if I’m being honest. Because why are we passing off John’s disgusting apartment to someone else? But I guess editing magic, am I right? *rolls eyes*
But John. That shower. I couldn’t even look at it. It’s giving ‘I don’t wash my legs or my back because water washes it away.’ Again, Sarah, is the dating pool that bad that you want to date a man like this? He doesn’t look after himself and said women were “nesters.” Why are you placing yourself in a position where you have to be someone’s mother?! Because he should know these things in his big age. And if he can’t commit to cleaning his fridge, what makes you think he’s going to commit to you? Chin up, and set those standards higher.
3. Why do these couples keep having important conversations they should’ve had in the pods?

Lizzie: I think there are honestly a lot of things people don’t think about until they’re faced with them, which is part of the problem. The pods become a moment for big philosophical conversations instead of practical ones. Then we end up here, with people who on paper might be compatible but who don’t understand that a relationship requires compromise and sacrifice, and who are not willing to move even one inch. And if you aren’t, why are you even on the show?
Also, I think couples have gotten smarter about having a lot of convos off-camera, which is good for them, truly, but bad for the spectacle of the show. There is that.
Lyra: Honestly, this is the part of Love is Blind Season 11 that keeps blowing my mind. Because what were you guys doing in the pods if you weren’t having these important conversations about money, where you’re going to live, or just your general wants and needs. We’re about to get to the weddings and we have couples who are still testing each other on the most basic things or are on different pages about what kind of household they want to have. This is basic stuff that should’ve been talked about before any proposal happened.
I did want to make a point on the Aneha and Cam front. I know I’ve commented on how the light in his eyes has been diminishing because of Aneha’s tests and assurances that her family isn’t going to like him. But the more I see of him in these episodes, the more it seems like some of her anxiety is because of his inaction. Make a decision, my dude. Just something. And if you can’t, you guys need to break up. Simple.
4. We got a lot of family moments in Episodes 9-11. Any favorites? Least favorites?

Lizzie: None of the family moments really hit me this year, not in a good way. I do think Wilnie and Wilson had the most wholesome family interactions. I didn’t even mind Blake’s friends, who were tough, as much as Rob’s friends because what in the actual hell was that? Oh, well, at least it’s good to know your man’s friends are assholes before you actually commit.
Lyra: I kind of really liked Wilson’s mom. She was really sweet and seemed to be invested in this whole thing. But she also respected that this was his way of finding his person. That’s it on the ones I liked.
For the ones I didn’t like (besides obviously Rob’s friends, which I talked about earlier)… what was up with Blake’s friends? I thought those were his sisters with the way that they were talking to him and Erika. And honestly, good on her for laying it out like that. Because they seem to have Erika’s life all planned out for her. And if there’s anything we know about this woman is that she makes her own plan. There’s just something about Blake’s friends that gives ‘they need to mind their business.’ And if they’re interfering now, oh they’re definitely going to be a problem when these two are married.
5. The weddings are almost here! Who will get married and who won’t?

Lizzie: If anyone has a chance it’s probably Wilnie and Wilson, but I don’t think anyone should or will. Often I feel like this show needs at least one couple to root for, but this time I just want all these people to go their separate ways for good. I don’t even care about reunion drama, just end this.
Lyra: No one will get married. None of them have the chemistry, charisma, or connection that makes it seem like they’re going to say I do. Def think that Wilnie & Wilson and Sarah & John will make it down the aisle because of the preview. But that’s it. No “I do’s.” Please. Because these couples aren’t compatible and the standards need to go way up!
