Love is Blind Season 11 tests what it means to fall in love…again. Do looks, money, and other things matter when it comes to matters of the heart? Or can you fall in love with someone sight unseen? Again, we are watching a bunch of hopefuls navigate these questions in Season 11 of the series. And since we can’t control ourselves (as evidenced by our breakdown of the first 5 episodes), here is our breakdown of episodes 6 through 8 of Season 11!
P.S. Need a reminder of the Love is Blind Season 11 cast? Read more here!
1. How have your opinions of the couples changed after this batch of episodes?
Lizzie: I am simultaneously even more bored and even more concerned about the women. Because these group of men suck. Like, they really do suck. But we’re all in a collective hallucination where we pretend any of this makes sense. It doesn’t! It shouldn’t!
Also, this is just so dry. I can take hating the men and side eyeing the women if I were at least entertained, but I can’t even say I am. I just want this season to end, ASAP.
Lyra: After Episodes 6-8 I’m even more certain that non of them entered this show with marriage in mind. And that absolutely sours the whole experiment of Love is Blind. Because I understand it’s reality TV. I get that. But within that space I need to be given a smart of hope. A spark of love. And I still haven’t gotten any of that from these contestants.
Alsooooo this is the fault of the casting department too. Because they approached a lot of these people, saw their profiles, did the research, and did the psych evals. And still we got this. At this point, I’m not even sure what Love is Blind is trying to achieve. Because they’re not even given me a drop of the tentpole of this series aka love.
2. Who is the biggest red flag of Love is Blind Season 11 Episodes 6-8?
Lizzie: Everyone’s pretending they’re better than they really are, because that’s the stage we’re on either now, so I’m gonna give it to the antivaxer who drinks raw milk. Like, he’s a walking red flag regurgitating conservative talking points but trying to pretend he’s actually open-minded so people don’t clock him for the asshole that he is.
And that’s almost worse than just being upfront about being an asshole. Like own it, a lot of men do. Don’t make me (and Sarah!) waste our time.
Lyra: John. I’m a big proponent of trusting your gut. And everything that he’s saying is just red flag after red flag. Like what was said in the pods was terrible and terrifying if they have a daughter or any children. But then the milk?! And then what we saw in the preview with the filthy apartment. Just nah.
John’s apartment tells me he doesn’t care for his home. John’s opinions tell me he doesn’t care about the women in his life. And his personal choices tell me he doesn’t care about himself and what that could mean for his partner in the future. Red flag city.
3. Literally, why is Sarah putting up with John? Because from the milk to abortion, they are different on fundamental levels.
Lizzie: I think it’s a combo of this horrible thing we as women fall into where we’re like “I can fix him” or “I can show him the way.” Except you can’t. No one can. He’s gotta want to learn and be better and he doesn’t want to. He just wants to pretend for long enough to get a girlfriend.
But I also think part of is probably that the bar is in hell because dating these days is a minefield. I think John is bad, but Sarah has probably met 57 versions of him who aren’t even trying to pretend and 75 worse dudes. So, she thinks this is “good enough.” Which is honestly kind of heartbreaking. You deserve better, Sarah.
Lyra: As women, we’re put in this uncomfortable AF situation where marriage and kids is the whole goal. And I’m saying this from the perspective of someone who grew up with the thought, “Ok, I’ll go to college. But I’m not really going to do anything with that because I’m going to get married and have a bunch of kids. The end.” It’s what I was taught as a kid. And I got past that. I knew I didn’t need to do any of those things. And I’m happy for it. But Sarah, I think she thinks she needs to do that for her life to be complete or satisfying. And if she has to settle for John, she’ll settle.
But Sarah shouldn’t settle for John, especially because you can tell that she wants a partner to walk through life with her. But how can you do that if you can’t trust that your partner will have your best wishes at heart if your beliefs are on fundamentally different levels? Can you trust him to make the best choices for you? I don’t think he can. But what do I know. I’m just on the outside looking in on this red flag parade.
4. Was Aneha testing Cam? And if she was, did she have a right to?
Lizzie: Yeah, I think she’s been constantly texting him but I also think part of it is anxiety driven. She doesn’t have the tools to process her anxiety in a healthy way, so she’s reacting by trying to make him more anxious than she is because that way she regains control of the situation. Either way, I don’t think they can make it and I don’t believe she truly wants to be here.
Lyra: 100% she was testing him. And it was giving high school mind games. Because honestly, she doesn’t like him and doesn’t want to break it off. So she’s pushing him. At the same time, this is marriage. I understand you want to work out if this person is in it with you. And that conversation with Cam’s sister probably didn’t help. But seriously, just break up. Also, why did you even sign up if you knew your parents wouldn’t approve? Wasted your own time for clout?
5. We met parents and friends and went to houses. Any red flags?
Lizzie: We’ve seen a lot worse, but I was a little thrown off by John’s parents. I mean, I understand that you’re on camera and you know it, but you didn’t really touch any thorny subjects. You were just playing it up for whoever was watching. I’m definitely not on John’s side, but what kind of advice can they give him if the entire interaction was basically fake because they were super fake.
Lyra: Ehhh they’re all red flags. But if I had to pick one, it’s that convo between Wilnie, Wilson, and her friends. Feels like they presented a different version of themselves in the pods, and those versions aren’t here in the real world. And isn’t the whole point of this experiment supposed to be about stripping everything and getting to know the person inside? Ehhhhh.
6. Who will make it down the aisle? Who has ZERO chance?
Lizzie: At least a couple of couples, but NOT Aneha and Cam. Should have broken up already, they’re just stealing time that could be used for more drama at this point. Sarah should also not make it down the aisle, but I think she will. And Erika needs to send Blake and his backpack packing before she even tries on a dress. He’s never settling down.
Curious about Rob and Michaella. Right now they seem like a very strong couple, giving of anyone’s gonna make it, it’s us. Will something change on the new two episodes?
Lyra: Wilnie and Wilson are going to make it down the aisle. So are Sarah and John. And it’s not because I believe in them. I don’t. It’s because the teaser for the next couple episodes gave it away. None of them have any chance of getting married. But zero chance? Def Aneha and Cam. Family is really important to Aneha and I don’t see a world where she has her big dad if they aren’t there.
