The volcano is finally here in 9-1-1 Season 10 Episode 2 “Fire in the Hole”! But don’t worry LA, the FireFam is on the case. Even though we’re super worried about Athena after the events of “That Sinking Feeling”…
Last we left off, the sinkhole that swallowed up a bunch of cars started seeing bubbling happening in the water followed by an eerie whistle. That’s when the lava burst into the air, leaving us wondering if that guy who doubted Maddie would survive. As for Athena, she followed a lead and ended up down a ladder in a jewelry shop and into space definitely being affected by the volcano.

In “Fire in the Hole” the lava is really going to start spreading and causing chaos. That’s going to leave the 118 in a precarious situation as they try and deal with something like they’ve never experienced before. And if the preview photos and promo are anything to go by, Maddie is going to be instrumental in being the 118’s eyes and ears on those streets as they go car hopping.
While the 118 is fighting the lava directly, it seems like Athena is trying to reorient herself underground, trapped with no one knowing she’s down there. But what I’m personally interested in are the photos of May at the hospital. This could mean that victims affected by the lava are coming in. And with volcanoes not being standard in LA, I can’t imagine the shock that everyone in the hospital is going through as they try and help patients. That includes May.
