We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Best Scene of the Week

Jennifer: The last scene between Mickey and Skye at the end of this week’s Sheriff Country episode left me emotional. Mickey was relieved to see Skye walk out of the diner with Tex because she thought they’d be let go. But then Skye told her mother that the escaped inmates wanted her to stay behind while the rest of the diner hostages walked free.
Clearly, Mickey’s love for her family, especially for her daughter, is the core of this show. It’s what motivates her to do her job as well as she does. So, it got me when Skye told Mickey that she couldn’t go with her. Because she was being brave when Mickey was distraught at the thought of leaving her daughter in danger.
Shelby: The opening of this week’s Abbott Elementary when Janine was talking about Gregory proposing, but she called it recess because the kids were asking about recess. It was so good and high-energy and just the perfect way to kick off the episode.
Ashley W.: I loved the scene at the end of Abbott Elementary season 6, episode 5: “Courtney” when the step team is opening their new costumes for their dance competition and it’s revealed that Mr. Johnson used his bonus to buy the outfits. It was a perfect blend of heartfelt sincerity with a touch of humor, and it also added a depth to Mr. Johnson that the show doesn’t always allow him.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: Brian & Ellen are literally laying the foundation for what will one day become Lallybroch in order to build a life together so, for me, it’s them! I’d also add Murtagh & Grace; even though the events of Blood of My Blood Season 2, Episode 8 upended their happiness, they are still willing to fight to be together.
Shelby: Amelia and Toni in Grey’s Anatomy. They hit a hurdle in their new relationship, talked it through, and made it to the other side together and stronger. Every scene of theirs makes me excited to see what’s next for them, and I think that makes them a ship to watch.
Ashley W.: Am I necessarily shipping Frost and Wu romantically? No, and I feel like it’ll take a lot for me to be on board with taking those characters in that direction, especially given what we learn in Chicago Med season 12, episode 5: “Baptism by Fire.” But I wanted to highlight them because of how important it is for their work relationship to have progressed to a point where Wu isn’t completely closed off to Frost. Since Wu got to Gaffney, she hasn’t been the most amiable colleague and often has been shown to be in conflicting positions with her coworkers.
But the latest episode hinted at her having been abused in the past. When Frost mentions it and offers to be someone she can talk to, Wu doesn’t take him up on that, but she does make it a point to let him know that she wants his company amidst taking a quiet moment for herself. Regardless of what comes of them, it’s nice to see Wu develop some sort of comfort and trust in Frost, because everyone needs unconditional support.
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: Tony Curran from STARZ’s Blood of my Blood.
Jennifer: I’m gonna give this week to Amanda Arcuri in this week’s Sheriff Country episode. I think this was her best episode playing Skye Fraley, the daughter of Sheriff Mickey Fox. She did such a good job in portraying Skye’s bravery and strength when faced with danger. I almost felt like crying when she turned to Boone and begged him to go after her mom when the escaped inmates took her and Manny away.
Ashley W.: Paul Bettany did a tremendous job bringing the intricate, complicated plot of VisionQuest episode 7: “Immolation” to life with his portrayals of Vision, Phineas Horton, and J.I.M. Vision goes through such an emotional journey in that episode alone, and Bettany really sells the anguish and conflict he experiences, but then there’s the added layer of having to face those truths opposite J.I.M. and Phineas — characters he also has to play. Bettany’s work across those roles and throughout the episode was a such factor in making episode 7 the best of the Marvel miniseries so far.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: It’s not so much that it’s annoying, it’s just that I urgently need to talk to Phyllis about interior design. What was that stuff we saw at Eternally Yours Season 1 Episode 5?
Jennifer: As much as I love Manny and Mickey separately, their scenes in the crossover of Sheriff Country Season 2, Episode 5 “No Way In” and Fire Country Season 5, Episode 5 “No Way Out” felt romantically charged at times. Specifically, I was annoyed in the last scene of Mickey bidding five hundred dollars for Manny in the bachelors for auction.
They were sitting too close, smiling warmly, and thinking too much about their failed date years prior. Did the show forget that Manny has a girlfriend and Mickey is still getting a grip on her feelings for Boone? I felt the tension but it also felt sudden and a little unnecessary.
Ashley W.: Is it possible that Ultron didn’t push F.R.I.D.A.Y. off the balcony in VisionQuest episode 7 to kill her off? Yes. But until we know otherwise, I’m not giving Ultron the benefit of the doubt and will be annoyed at him for his actions!
