Well, that’s our first big San Diego Comic Con surprise in the books.
Tom Cruise showed up to Hall H today, on the official first day of Comic Con, to unveil the trailer and poster for the long awaited Top Gun sequel, titled Top Gun: Maverick. And when I say long awaited, I mean long long loooong. By the time the film releases next year, it’ll be 34 years since the original.
Yeah, I can’t quite believe it myself, either.
The film is not a reboot, but a sequel to the 1986 film. The movie was a hit back when it was released, grossing more than 350 million on a 15 million dollar budget.
So, what do you think? Are you excited for this sequel? Are you surprised it’s been 33 years and Tom Cruise is still making action movies? Do you just not care? Share with us in the comments below!
