Oliver Queen has faced plenty of surprising things during his four seasons on Arrow — and his five years of flashbacks — from mysticism to Mirakuru soldiers to metahumans to the Lazarus Pit. But how would Oliver handle the idea of mutants in Star City?
We chatted (very briefly) with Stephen Amell on the red carpet of a Philadelphia screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows about how Oliver Queen would deal with the appearance of the Turtles in Star City.
Just like you’d expect, considering everything he’s faced in the past nine years, it wouldn’t faze Oliver as much as it might, say, Diggle.
“I feel like Oliver has seen enough that he’d be like, ‘Oh God, there’s mutants, too,'” Amell told us. “He would probably just shake his head and then figure out whether they were for him or against him.”
The only thing that would make it better would be seeing Diggle’s reaction. First speedsters. Soon aliens that can fly. Then teenage, mutant turtles that also happen to be ninjas? Priceless.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Amell takes on the iconic role of Casey Jones, a hockey stick-wielding vigilante that soon finds himself enraptured in the world of April O’Neil and the Turtles.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is in theaters now, and Arrow returns for its fifth season this fall on The CW.
