The CW’s massive four-part crossover event in December isn’t the only crossover event fans have to look forward to. In addition to that massive event, The CW will unleash a musical crossover event between The Flash and Supergirl.
You read right. We are actually getting a crossover of the musical variety.
“Yes, there will be a musical crossover,” executive producer Greg Berlanti said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “There’s going to be a musical pair of episodes in the back half of the year between Supergirl and The Flash.”
The crossover will feature The Flash, anchored by Grant Gustin, and Supergirl, led by Melissa Benoist, both of whom appeared on Glee.
While the two-part event will feature preexisitng songs, Berlanti teased that we could hear some original stuff.
“We have been talking about trying to write at least one original song per episode,” he said.
But of course we have to wonder how this musical event can happen in this superhero world? According to Berlanti, they’ll “be careful how [they] break into song.” Also, some of the musical numbers might take place “in the characters’ heads.”
Are you excited for The Flash/Supergirl musical crossover event?!
