Sometimes there are shows that bring people together. Right now, for the Fangirlish staff, Timeless is that show. Years ago, some of us came together through Arrow, and stayed together because the bonds of friendship had already been established, but in the last few years Timeless has given us the unique chance to fangirl again, to exchange all-caps texts and to just enjoy something, together.
And that’s why, today, we want to celebrate that, and at the same time, build up the hype for the fifth episode of Timeless a little more, with this episode “The Day Reagan Was Shot” soundtrack. All credit goes to Mimi for the idea. Here it is, Mimi. We’re doing it every week. Let’s see if we can do this without giving too much away!
Alyssa’s Picks
“Open Arms” by Journey
So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you’ll see
What your love means to me
Open arms
“I Will Remember You” by Sarah McLaughlin
I’m so afraid to love you
But more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn’t let me choose
Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me lifeI will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
“Who You Are” by Angie Miller
Don’t lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It’s okay not to be okay
Sometimes it’s hard, to follow your heart
Tears don’t mean you’re losing, everybody’s bruising,
Just be true to who you are
Lyra’s Picks
“You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago
You know our love was meant to be
The kind of love to last forever
And I want you here with me
From tonight until the end of time
You should know
Everywhere I go
Always on my mind
In my heart
In my soul
“Girls Like Girls” by Hayley Kiyoko
Isn’t this why we came?
Tell me if you feel it too!
Tell me, girls like girls like boys do
Nothing new
Girls like girls like boys do
Nothing new
“I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston
I’ve been in love and lost my senses
Spinning through the town
Sooner or later, the fever ends
And I wind up feeling down
I need a man who’ll take a chance
On a love that burns hot enough to last
So when the night falls
My lonely heart calls
Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me
Lizzie’s Picks
“The One That You Love” by Air Supply
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways
“Follow Your Arrow” by Kacey Musgraves
Make lots of noise
Kiss lots of boys
Or kiss lots of girls
If that’s something you’re into
When the straight and narrow
Gets a little too straight
Roll up the joint, or don’t
Just follow your arrow
Wherever it points, yeah
Follow your arrow
Wherever it points
“Take a Bow” by Rhianna
But you put on quite a show
You really had me goin’
But now it’s time to go
Curtains finally closin’
That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it’s over now
Go on and take a bow
Consensus Pick
I’m spreadin’ love
There’s no need to fear
And I just feel so glad
Every time I hearI’m coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
I’m coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show
