I admit, the first thing I thought when I saw this news was: “well, some executive at Netflix is an idiot.”
Look, I love Netflix – I binge it more than I should. But Insatiable – one of the most offensive shows on Netflix, hell, on TV has been renewed for a season 2. I ask you Netflix, why do you insist on saving or continuing with bullshit that doesn’t need to be made? It’s just ugh.
These are the things that make me want to give up on you.
The show, stars Debbie Ryan, who used to be fat and now isn’t. So she’s seeking revenge on all of the people who have wronged her by way of participating in beauty pageants. I mean, that’s what they say it is. Except it’s really more about fatphobia and fat shaming. The show is meant to be funny, but it’s not. It’s a disgusting display of the worst of society and in all honesty – I am baffled as to why Netflix decided to renew this offensive trash.
Insatiable is slated to return in 2019, unfortunately.
