Calling all nerds and nerd lovers! You’ve come to the right place. This list isn’t for the best body, or the best smile, though it could be argued that our nerds could absolutely fit in those categories too. (Who said nerds weren’t attractive?).We’re here to shout out the brainiest, most awkward, but simultaneously adorable television nerds we could think of.
Depending on where you look, the traditional definition of a nerd ranges from socially dysfunctional and inept, to intelligent and single minded. Well, we’re here to say, nerds are so much more, and we simply adore them!
Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes)

Ah, the genius himself, Mr. Sherlock Holmes is the consummate nerd. No crime scene is safe when he crosses the yellow tape. Extremely clever, he can solve any case he cares to take on, but boy does he tire even his best friends out with his carelessly worded deductions. Sherlock is only interested in the important details of life, so he often makes the people who care about him most feel small. But, just when you think he doesn’t have a heart, he goes to extreme lengths to keep his friends safe. What’s a little drug overdose or a bullet in the service of a friend? Oh, and did we mention those curls were to die for?
Ella Lopez (Lucifer)

Cute, cute and more cute- L.A.P.D forensic scientist Ella Lopez is such a nerd! With a t-shirt collection that’s always on point, this brainy beauty is the glue that holds the department together. Ella has the biggest heart and is always holding on to her faith even in the worst situations. Putting her foot in her mouth is a given, but with a heart of gold and heart eyes to boot, no one can be mad at her for long. This nerd also happens to be a kick ass mechanic! What’s not to love?
Felicity Smoak (Arrow)
Computer scientist and expert hacker, Felicity Smoak stole our nerdy hearts the first time she appeared in the Arrowverse. This fast-talking genius is never at a loss for words which often leads to foot-in- mouth moments. Felicity has been a CEO and founded her own tech company.
She is a trusted member of Team Arrow, often at the com-system making sure that all things go according to plan. This bubbly beauty isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty either. She has gone undercover and stood up to some of the worst criminals in Star City. What a woman!
Cisco Ramon (The Flash)

“I make the toys man.” Cisco Ramon is STAR Lab’s resident engineer and the coiner of villain names. Always ready with a movie line, he’s made some of the best gadgets for Team Flash and even created Flash’s suits! Cisco is also in the running for the best T-shirt collection on television. (Ella Lopez is his fiercest competitor of course!) But we have to say, this cutie wins hands down for bounciest, sleekest and shiniest hair. This techie also had a stint as the metahuman, Vibe. Smart, funny, cute, and a certified superhero- give it up for this nerd!
Raj Koothrappali (The Big Bang Theory)

Dr. Raj Koothrappali is one of the smartest guys around. He is best buds with other equally intelligent friends doing all the typically nerdy things you can think of- reading comic books, playing video games etc… One of the quirkiest and most adorable things about Raj is that for the longest time he couldn’t speak around women unless he was under the influence. Watching him uncomfortably mute or whispering to one of his guy friends to relay his messages was a little sad but admittedly hilarious.
Far from the only nerd on our list to speak out of turn, this super smart astrophysicist has a tendency to say the wrong thing at the wrong time, but we love him all the more for it!
Randall Pearson (This Is Us)
If you have a thing for dads and nerds, this is the PERFECT combination. This favorite found his luck right from the start. Abandoned by his biological dad, Randall was adopted into a loving family and formed The Big Three with his new siblings. Though life wasn’t always easy, he excelled. The classic over achiever, this smarty was at the top of his class and ended up marrying a world class sweet heart too!
More than anything, Randall is a super dad. He tries to be hip and no matter how bad he is at it, he never stops trying to be the man of his girls’ dreams. Fiercely loyal, a perfectionist to a fault, and downright annoying at times, this nerd is one of televisions’ best!
Samwell Tarly (Game of Thrones)

Unbelievably awkward, fearful, but tried and true, Sam is the kind of friend everyone should want on their side. Dealing with feelings of insecurity about his place in the world, Sam often says everything that is on his mind even when he shouldn’t. From his relationship with his father to his first kiss, just about every experience he had was a pained one until he found the meaning of true friendship and his life’s purpose. Did these revelations stop his nerdiness? Of course not! Though he overcame many struggles on the road to manhood, being a nerd was just not one of them, and we could not fancy him more!
