Living in New York City is a lot of people’s dream. Hell, It’s also a lot of people’s nightmare. But for a lot of people, it is also a necessary evil for work.
Actress Lucy Hale, who is living in New York for the filming of Katy Keene talked to Access Hollywood about the move. “I’m loving it! I’ve lived in LA for 15 years, I’m from Tennessee, so this is a much different vibe. I think it’s toughening me up a little bit. I smile at people on the street and they’re like, ‘Why? What’s wrong with this girl?’ I definitely still have my southern hospitality that still comes out.”
Now, we may have given up on Riverdale (no offense to the fans) but we’re interested in the spinoff about Katy Keene. We fully admit that part of that may be about the fact that Lucy Hale is set to star in the show.
The logline for the show is: “follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. This musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.”
But hey, back to filming in New York.
“Filming in New York is like a whole different thing, because we’re actually on the streets of New York with a lot of people,” she continued. “It’s fun, it keeps things real, and we get to showcase New York City, which is one of the best cities in the world, in my opinion. The fact that we actually get to shoot here, which doesn’t always happen. I feel really grateful.”
We’re grateful that you are here in New York City, Lucy. We are.
Katy Keene premieres mid-season on The CW.
