Amazon continues to build on it’s catalog of unique and creative content in the form of Undone and its season 2 renewal. The news comes a couple months after season 1 dropped, and after we did a season 1 review here at Fangirlish on the show, and after executive producer Kate Purdy signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios according to Variety.
Undone is a trippy half an hour dramedy starring Rosa Salazar as Alma. After a near fatal accident she unlocks the ability within herself to time travel. While trying to figure out how things work she somehow reconnects with her dead father. And as her world starts unraveling around her we uncover the dark truth about the death of her father and the lengths that Alma is willing to go to save him.
According to Variety, when it came to the season 2 renewal of Undone, creators and executive producers Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob-Waksberg had this to say, “It’s been wonderful to share ‘Undone’ and have people watching become part of the experience as they interpret the show through their own perceptions of reality.” They continued on with, “We are thrilled Amazon Studios is giving us the opportunity to keep exploring this world and these characters, and we look forward to seeing where the story takes us next – but since time is a construct, in a way, we already made the second season and you have always been watching it all along!”
Alberg Cheng, co-head of television and COO at Amazon Studios also told Variety, “Undone’ is beautifully done in every sense of the word, aesthetically and emotionally, and we’re very happy ‘Undone’ will return for our Prime Video customers around the world.”
Rosa Salazar is known for Alita: Battle Angel and the Maze Runner franchise. Undone also stars Angelique Cabral, Constance Marie, Bob Odenkirk, Siddharth Dhananjay, and Daveed Diggs. The series is produced by Amazon Studios and Tornante Productions. Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob-Waksberg will act as executive producers alongside Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, and Tommy Pallotta.
