We don’t know what it is about Bob Odenkirk, but if you cast him in something, we will be watching. That’s especially true for his newest show Lucky Hank, that just dropped its trailer.
Now, look, are we interested in watching a white man be his worst, fight a goose, and have his nose caught by a ring notebook because he’s a douche? No. But will we be watching because Odenkirk has a way of making even the most unsavory characters interesting? Absolutely. And we can absolutely see that happening with Odenkirk’s character William henry Devereaux Jr.
From the executive producers of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Odenkirk plays an English department chairman at an underfunded college. And for some reason or another, he’s on the brink of midlife crisis or full-blown meltdown. You see it in the way he treats, his student, his coworkers and how his wife calls him out for not being present.
Instantly, he’s an unlikeable character. And we don’t see that changing when we watch Lucky Hank. But it will be interesting to see what has got him to this point, why he’s threatening flying creatures, and how that glorious beard happened.
