This episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star was creepy. Like super creepy. But it also made us love TK and Carlos even more.
The beginning of “Abandoned” began right where last week ended: with Carlos being held prisoner by a old lady and her serial killer son which will probably leave him with nightmares for years. We also learned that Owen is quite possibly the worst undercover agent ever. Let’s review.

Poor Carlos
Carlos has had the worst luck recently. His best friend was kidnapped and almost died. Then he decided to be a good friend and investigate because he just didn’t think Iris imaged the whole thing. The good news is: Iris was definitely not imagining anything. The bad news is Carlos is trapped.
Luckily, TK realizes something’s wrong after not hearing from Carlos for a while and learns he didn’t actually go visit Iris. TK and Carlos’ father do some investigating and discover there are several women that have disappeared. TK notices that all the women used the same pharmacy (nice detective work!) After that, they’re able to find out that the pharmacist, Darryl, is the one kidnapping and torturing these women. With a little help from him mother, of course.
Carlos is able to free himself, but he’s injected with a massive amount of morphine. TK and Carlos’ father arrive just in time to save Carlos. We love that TK didn’t give up on Carlos, and this hour of TV made our love for Carlos grow even more.
Hopefully, Carlos doesn’t have PTSD from this event, but we know TK will be there for him. Also, can TK and Carlos just be happy? These last four episodes have put them through the ringer.

Redemption for Owen
After last week the FBI made Owen look like a fool. They thought he had been played by O’Brien. But it turns out O’Brien actually is a good guy and was really looking for his nephew. When O’Brien and Owen are confronted by the Honor Dogs about being rats, Owen doesn’t even put up a fight and just confesses. He is so bad at being undercover.
But you know, we don’t blame him. These FBI agents are awful and seem pretty much incompetent. Why in the world did they even send Owen back after last week when they thought he was played by O’Brien? Who knows. But now they really don’t want anything to do with Owen and never want to see him again.
We think Owen would be okay with that, but he knows there’s ammonium nitrate missing. And based on the ending of this episode, something bad it going to happen. It’s just a matter of time. And the 126 will be the ones having to help rescue the city and clean up after the FBI massive failure.

Other Thoughts
- Bonita Friedericy was amazing as Darryl’s mom, Trudy. We almost felt sorry for Trudy at the end for all the pain that her son put her through. But, you know, she still helped torture Carlos and didn’t turn her son in after knowing he killed those women. So we don’t have too much sympathy for her.
- We love Carlos and TK. We really do. But we’re hoping that the rest of the cast (besides Owen) can get some more stories soon. We miss Marjan, Paul, Mateo, and Nancy. They’ve barely had any screen time this season.
