As more and more news comes out about the upcoming Marvel shows on Disney+, Fangirlish wanted to make it easier for fans of the franchise to get up to date on all the things they need to know.
This round-up includes some of the biggest and most fun news from the last week or so about all of our upcoming favorite Marvel shows, like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Solider, and Loki.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Deadline reported that Noah Mills (The Enemy Within and The Brave) will join the series’ existing cast. There is not much information about who Mills could be playing in the world of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, but there is always plenty of room to speculate.
Maybe Mills’s character is a partner to Wyatt Russell’s John Walker/US Agent. This could be beneficial in furthering the parallels between US Agent and the Falcon, especially since Sam is supposed to take up the mantle of Captain America but the government thinks otherwise.
If the government wants to take the eyes of the people away from the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, then giving them a new superhero duo to cheer for may do the trick. This is all speculation, but we wouldn’t be shocked if it were true.
This Deadline article also states that TFATWS is slated to premiere in August. This premiere date isn’t shocking for those of us who have been keeping an eye out for updates about TFATWS.
However, it is really nice to be reminded that we don’t have to wait that much longer to see some of our favorite characters again. August is right around the corner, even if January feels like a million years.
The further confirmation of the premiere date could also mean that we’re going to get more information even sooner. Our fingers are crossed for official stills, an official title card sequence, or a promo of any kind. We’ll take whatever scraps Marvel wants to give us.
WandaVision
Paul Bettany was at Sundance for his film Uncle Frank, and the topic of the much-anticipated show came up during an interview with IMDB.
Bettany hyped up fans by saying:
“It’s f***ing bonkers. It’s so out there and nuts, the choices they are making. Fans will not have to wait that much longer, well they’ve moved it up a little bit, but also they’ll get much more of an insight very, very soon.”
From his appearances at San Diego Comic Con and D23 Expo 2019, it is clear that Bettany is over-the-moon excited about this series, and we can’t blame him. The little tidbits we do know about the show have us sitting on the edge of our seats. This interview with Bettany only enhances our impatience to finally see the show.
Bettany’s comment does suggest that we’ll be seeing footage much sooner than many of us speculated. Since the show is likely to premiere after TFATWS, there is a chance we could get footage from both shows around the same time. Not only will that overload the brains and hearts of Marvel fans everywhere, it could also break the internet. We are ready.
Also, while at Sundance, Bettany shared a photo on his Instagram of a very special coffee. This is just a fun bit of news we wanted to share with you.
Would it be absurd to beg our local baristas to give the Vision latte art a try?
Loki
It is a major bummer that we have to wait until 2021 to see Loki again on his Disney+ series. Luckily, Tom Hiddleston gave fans some behind the scenes footage of him prepping for the show.
Hopefully this is only the beginning of many BTS videos, because we need all the content to get while we wait for the series to start streaming on Disney+.
Since Hiddleston is falling in this clip, we can’t help but to think of that iconic scene in Thor: Ragnarok when Loki says with much disdain, “I’ve been falling for 30 minutes!”
Information about Loki is still scarce, but it is reassuring to know that some things don’t change. No matter the time or place, Loki falls. His will to get back up is part of what makes him such a great character.
We can only imagine a long list of what-if scenarios Loki would have to pull himself back up from in a series solely dedicated to his character.
We do know Loki is connected to what we saw during Avengers: Endgame, when we saw Loki disappear with the Tesseract. Maybe whatever Loki is running from and/or falling because of has to do with whoever wants to take that Cube from him.
Whatever the situation may be, we can’t wait to watch it unfold next year.
