EL James’s ‘The Mister’ Is Headed For The Big Screen

“He’s here.  The Mister!”

That’s right people, The Mister is coming.  It was just announced by Variety that EL James, author of the famous Fifty Shades trilogy, has another book heading to the big screen.  The Mister, which was released last spring, has been picked up once again by Universal Pictures.

As we all know, the Fifty Shades trilogy did extremely well at the box office and with such a massive fan base, it’s no surprise that EL James churned out another book fans want to see on screen.

I read The Mister last year and true to her word, it was nothing like Fifty Shades.  Yes, there is some erotica in there, but it’s tame in comparison to what was going on in Fifty Shades.

Here’s what it’s about:

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.

But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?

From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page.

I’m really excited for this book to be brought to life on the big screen.  There is much more to the story than this blurb would indicate, and I highly recommend checking it out.  I can’t wait for the casting announcements because I am so curious to see who will play the roles of Alessia and Maxim.

We don’t have too much information yet, but we will keep you posted as more news comes.
