Casting shakeups always have us worried. We start to wonder what happened. Was it a chemistry thing? Was it a people don’t get along thing? Was it a scheduling conflict?
Who knows?
Olivia Holt is returning to television, taking over the lead in Freeform’s Cruel Summer. The show was previously entitled, Last Summer. She is taking over the role of Kate from Mika Abdalla.
Kate is one of the leads – the girl that you think is perfect, until she disappears. I mean, I guess everyone has secrets, so when they disappear and you think everything is perfect, you start to wonder.
The series, “takes place over three summers — 1993-95 — in a small Texas town when a beautiful popular teen, Kate (Holt), is abducted and, seemingly unrelated, a girl, Jeanette (Chiara Aurelia), goes from being a sweet, awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town and, by ’95, the most despised person in America. Each episode is told from the POV of one of the two main girls, which will have the viewers’ loyalties constantly shifting as more information is revealed.”
Sounds interesting to us.
The show, which is produced by Jessica Biel, was picked up to series in January.
Does it sound like something that you would watch?
