One of the hardest parts about quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic has been the absence of sports. What can I say, it’s my version of entertainment and the very life force that sustains me.
While we’re getting closer to the return of the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, Netflix is helping curb our sports appetite with the release of the trailer for Last Chance U‘s fifth season, which will be its final football installment before transitioning to basketball.
For any sports fan that’s ever watched Last Chance U, I highly recommend it. It’s not your typical college football experience. For players that want to get noticed by big programs — and hopefully go on to make the NFL — putting in the work at JUCO, or junior college, is a great way to do that.
Last Chance U heads to Oakland and Laney College, who are the defending state and national JUCO champions. And it’s clear from the trailer that Laney are the hunted, liked by no one because they’re “the scrappy ones.”
Last Chance U season 5 hits Netflix on July 28.
