Hi, Grace Kaufman, we’re about to learn everything we can about you.
If you haven’t heard of Grace, you’re about to. The actress has beat out everyone (don’t ask who everyone is – we don’t know) for the lead in the adaptation of Jandy Nelson’s The Sky Is Everywhere.
Adrift after her sister Bailey’s sudden death, Lennie finds herself torn between quiet, seductive Toby—Bailey’s boyfriend who shares her grief—and Joe, the new boy in town who bursts with life and musical genius. Each offers Lennie something she desperately needs… though she knows if the two of them collide her whole world will explode.
It is Kaufman’s first role in the lead of a film.
Nelson is adapting her own book into a screenplay. Josephine Decker is attached to direct.
Kaufman has mainly worked in television – TNT’s The Last Ship and CBS’ Man With a Plan, where she played Matt LeBlanc’s daughter are her major roles.
We’re off to watch her in Man With A Plan right now. We can’t wait for this book to come to life.
