The heist isn’t over just yet. The groundbreaking and much beloved Spanish series La Casa de Papel – or Money Heist – has been renewed for a fifth and final season at Netflix.
Part 4 was released in April, and consisted of eight episodes.
EW was the first to report on the final season. They are also reporting that production is set to start Monday in Denmark, before moving to Portugal and Spain.
If you haven’t yet watched Money Heist, well, we ARE in quarantine, so this is really the perfect time. Plus, consider this, if you haven’t watched it – you might soon find yourself in the minority of Netflix suscribers. The show is, after all, one of the streamers most popular shows of all time, and its most popular non-English series ever.
The aforementioned part 4, for example, was watched by 65 million accounts in the first four weeks. That’s more than Tiger King, and up there with Stranger Things.
Money Heist traces two long-prepared heists led by the Professor (Álvaro Morte), one on the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain. But, of course, a lot goes wrong (and right).
Here’s the trailer for part four:
Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
