With the premiere of Lucifer Season 5 fast approaching (in, oh, you know…five days), we thought it would be fitting to take a little journey back through some of Deckerstar’s best moments from the past four seasons.
In honor of there being 5 days until the fifth season is upon us, I present to you (you guessed it):
5 Of Deckerstar’s Best Moments!
1. “Don’t you know that, Detective?”

People may disagree with me on this one, but this moment is my favorite Deckerstar moment of all time.
I can’t even properly explain why, exactly. Maybe it’s the way Lucifer is looking at her, and watching her with such complete and utter adoration that just shows that he would let her ruin him, if she wanted to.
He never interrupts her curious exploration. He can see how frightened and overwhelmed she is by it, by the idea that he could die when she’s near him and he would gladly do it to save her. He just stays where he is, watches her, and lets her do what she needs to process it.
He let’s her hurt him, because he’s okay with that, if that’s what she needs.
He completely surrenders to Chloe in every possible way. He lets her have all the power to show her the power she has over him.
Now and always.
Lucifer is absolute putty in Chloe’s hands – he would, literally, do anything for her – and you just see it so clearly in this scene.
I’m obsessed with it.
2. “I am a devil of my word.”
Listen, I’m a sucker for angst.
I’m a sucker for a character going absolutely feral when someone hurts the one they love.
This was the moment that I saw giffed all over tumblr that made me want to watch this show because this is what I’m about, people.
Call me a basic bitch, but I love watching Lucifer do what Lucifer does best – and it’s even more satisfying when he’s doing it because some bastard tried to kill the woman he loves.
There’s not much else to say about this scene other than this is when you really learn that you do not mess with Chloe Decker.
Lucifer will come for you with everything he has and he will show no mercy.
3. “It was you, Chloe. It always has been.”
We can’t talk about Deckerstar scenes without talking about this one – the moment where they profess their love for each other aloud in the most earnest ways.
The moment where Chloe is literally begging Lucifer to stay with her.
This moment is so utterly devastating because Lucifer finally hears the words he’s always wanted to hear from Chloe, but the timing is so wrong and heartbreaking because he can’t stay with her and love her the way he’s always wanted to. He has to choose duty over Chloe to keep her (and all of mankind) safe, and you can actually see his heart breaking as he kisses her goodbye.
And that kiss.
That kiss is such a devastatingly sweet, soft kiss. There’s so much restraint behind that kiss. It’s just pure love and heartbreak and it is truly a sweet, broken goodbye.
It’s too much and not enough all at once.
Ugh, I’m going to cry all over again…
This goodbye is everything to me.
4. “You have to forgive yourself.”

Listen, Season 4 was the season of Lauren German.
The way she portrays Chloe’s struggle to accept who Lucifer really is, and her love for him, despite everything she’s been told about the devil and good versus evil, is nothing short of a masterpiece.
When Lucifer‘s guilt and self-loathing begins to literally change him, altering his appearance, trapping him in his own devilish skin, Chlow has to face her fear of who Lucifer really is in order to help him.
Chloe is terrified, despite how much she loves him – hell, maybe that love for Lucifer is a massive part of why she is so scared, but when she sees his self-loathing literally, physically changing him, she puts that fear and uncertainty aside to save Lucifer from himself.
Because she loves him.
And she sees him – all of him.
She sees what he does to himself, even if he refuses to admit it and, despite everything, she can’t stand to see him continue to torture himself.
This scene may not be the most romantic, but it is quintessential Deckerstar.
They challenge each other. They support each other, even when things may not be good or right between them.
They are each other’s best friend before anything else, and that’s part of what makes them so great.
5. “[I thought] I’d commemorate the one time you penetrated me.”
We had to have one sweet, cute, pure moment in here, didn’t we?
And what’s more pure than Lucifer coming home to find Chloe asleep in his bed, in his shirt, after her big birthday bash in his penthouse?
The ol’, “I’m going to tell you things I would never say if you were awake,” trope is one of the best, and Lucifer explaining to Chloe where he’s been, and why, while he thinks she’s asleep is so sweet and vulnerable – which isn’t a side of Lucifer anyone really sees often.
Chloe tends to be one of the few people he is comfortable being vulnerable with (asleep or not).
And it’s important for her to get these honest moments with him because, in her mind, he is such a mystery – she has spent their entire partnership assuming he’s been lying to her about who he is, so, she needs moments like this to know that Lucifer truly is exactly the man she hopes he is.
And then the gift.
It’s so funny and thoughtful and cute – it’s literally the perfect gift from a man who could literally buy her anything she could ever want.
Because Lucifer knows by now that Chloe would love something like this more than anything material he could ever give her.
And there you have it, folks!
