If you haven’t heard, Dear Evan Hansen is coming to the movies. The Broadway play is being adapted and we can’t wait to see it.
The play, Dear Evan Hansen, is a story of a high school senior who has severe social anxiety and has trouble connecting with others and making friends. After the suicide of a classmate, Evan gets caught in a lie that brings him closer to his classmate’s family.
The role was portrayed by Ben Platt, Noah Galvin, and Jordan Fisher in the stage version. Ben Platt will revise his role for the movie.
But why did it get better? Well because Amandla Stenberg, has signed on to play the role of Alana. Alana will have an expanded role in the film. But as if that wasn’t good enough, Amandla will also co-write a new song for the movie with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
We’re super excited for this adaptation and can’t wait to see Amandla take on the role.
