We know that there is a third movie for The Kissing Booth franchise, and we can’t wait to see it. Sure, the ending of the second one pissed us off.
Why?
Well, because it made it feel like Elle had to make her choice based on the dudes in her life, versus what she wanted and what was best for her. Like – yes, does she go to Harvard or Berkley, but what we’ve never really truly figured out is the most important thing.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES ELLE WANT?
I think the thing that I have missed in the first two movies is knowing more about Elle as a person versus how she was defined by the circumstances in her life, and the people she loves. I don’t feel like I know her at all.
The writer/director Vince Marcello is already teasing the third film. He didn’t say much – which no one can blame him for because those NDA’s are a bitch.
“Although The Kissing Booth is a romantic comedy, the heart of it is a coming of age story,” Vince told Variety. He added that the third “is the culmination of this coming of age story — not just for Elle, but for Noah and Lee, as well. Although their paths are entwined, each has their own journey with a set of challenges that they need to overcome before closing the chapter of their lives that was adolescence and beginning their new journey into adulthood.”
It kind of gives me hope that Elle’s life won’t be defined by the men in her life and we will finally get to see who she is.
“I’m most excited about giving fans a joyful and emotionally satisfying ending to The Kissing Booth. After all, the love they’ve shown for this franchise, they deserve nothing less,” Vince continued in Variety.
Well, lets hope that we are on the same wavelength of what that emotionally satisfying ending is.
What do you want to see from The Kissing Booth 3? What ending would make you happy?
