Originally, Jon Snow was supposed to be the one who slayed the Night King.
At least that’s what Maisie Williams revealed to THR, and if we’re being honest, as much as the shock and pure badassery of Arya Stark being the one to slay the Night King was a highlight of a rather lackluster final season of Game of Thrones, that just …makes more sense.
I mean, what was the point of Jon’s heritage, of him, you know, coming back from the death, if not to, you know …do something important?
But that’s just me using common sense, and we all know season 8 of Game of Thrones failed at that.
Williams also had this to say: ” I’m glad that it was Arya, honestly. I think I had the best storyline of the final season.”
She isn’t wrong. It’s just not a very high bar to clear. She survived and her character wasn’t completely assassinated or used as a plot device, so hey, one of the best storylines of the final season!
It seems like I’m still angry. Who knew?
