Well, this is a game changer.
The Academy has announced new representation and inclusion standards for Best Picture eligibility, and let me tell you, I’m a little emotional. Because this means something.
It doesn’t fix all problems, of course not. But it’s a step in the right direction, and it means so many more people who could have never gotten jobs in the industry today will get to live out their dreams. It means we’ll get to see different stories.
And it means that Hollywood knows there’s a lot that needs changing. Now, let’s get to it.
