It’s been a little under a decade since Jude Law starred in Contagion, but we’re now all living in Contagion, and if you ever wondered if Law understands the irony of this, the answer is a resounding yes.
Appearing on The Jimmy Fallon show, Law talked about living in this weird moment in time, the lessons he learned during filming Contagion – that he then promptly forgot, and how odd he finds it that people are now turning to that film as comfort.
“I found it a little odd that everyone went back to watch that in the middle of the real thing.”You [can] just turn on the news, you don’t need to watch it.”
He also confessed he texted Steven Soderbergh about it when the pandemic started to say, hey, called it. Which, doesn’t actually make us feel better, but maybe the reason the movie does help some people is because …it’s fiction. It has an ending.
Unlike, let’s say, Love in The Time of Corona. That was just depressing.
