“War” has come to The Crown, between Margaret Thatcher and Parliament and within the Royal family. This was a jam packed season finale that covered a lot of events important to the storyline. Let’s get started.
RESIGNATION

I’m not a fan of Margaret Thatcher or what she did, but I can say that she obviously loved her country. It did seem very extreme when she said she wanted to dismiss Parliament. Forgive me U.K. friends, I’m not exactly sure what that means, but it didn’t sound like a good thing and was a little like a dictatorship. After four years of Trump, that kind of statement doesn’t leave me with the warm and fuzzies. I can’t say I was sad to see her go.
THE END OF A LOVE STORY?

I will say this again, I am not a fan of Charles or Camilla. I am trying very hard to see things from their point of view. Charles was shafted and he was forced into a loveless marriage, which obviously is very painful. Camilla on the other hand is right, she would be seen as the antagonist in their little love triangle. It wouldn’t end well if they were together at that point in time publicly.
However, Charles is a prick of unimaginable levels. The things he says to Diana are mean and horrid. He is so bitter and really doesn’t care about what he is inflicting on Diana. Him calling her weak and questioning if she could handle four days of events in New York made me want to punch him in the face. He is vindictive and I hate him. He doesn’t garner very much sympathy from me. He is raging “War” on her and it makes him a horrible person.
Diana on the other hand, I feel for on so many levels. I don’t for one second think that she was planning to go to New York and make it all about her to hurt Camilla or Charles. No, it would have been all about Diana regardless. Sure, she does like the spotlight, but name me one person in the Royal family that doesn’t.
Also, I would go for broke after Phillips threat, and still file for separation. I wouldn’t want to be a part of their family. They don’t even talk to her for christ’s sake. Elizabeth just brushes her off everytime Diana tries to reach out, and I am so sick of it. I am sick and tired of this dismissive family.

I hope we do get to see more of Diana’s charity work in season 5 of The Crown. It was such a big part of who she was and I feel like they just left that out this season. She is the “people’s princess” for a reason and I want to see more of it.”War” was my favorite episode of The Crown this season. What was yours? What are you looking forward to happening in season 5?
The Crown is now streaming on Netflix.
