It is definitely Tom Holland’s world and we’re living in it. I don’t know about you, but I am okay with that.
Photos for his upcoming movie, Cherry, were released and the actor posted them on his Instagram with the caption, “I can’t tell you how proud of this movie I am. #cherry.”
And this movie sounds intense.
Based on the novel by Nico Walker, the film is about, “an Army medic suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder becomes a serial bank robber after an addiction to drugs puts him in debt.”
The book is by the same name.
“This is a movie that’s supposed to define the experience of having PTSD, the experience of being addicted to opioids… And the mission of the film is to generate empathy, not to generate disdain, not to indict. You needed to empathize with his struggle and his journey because a lot of people are going through this, and they’re having a very human experience. I think empathy is in incredibly short supply right now in the world. And it’s a tragedy,” director Joe Russo explained.
The movie is expected to come out on February 26, 2021, and hit Apple TV+ on March 12, 2021. No word on when the trailer will be released, but we’re looking forward to it.
What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to seeing Cherry?
