We cannot live without ships! It’s a fact. When we see a new show, we always hope to fall in love with a couple that makes us think: I will go dow with this ship. That’s what happened to us with Shaun and Lea AKA #Shea and here we explain why.
THEIR FIRST TIMES
Shaun experimented with Lea many first times. It was with her that he drove a car for the first time, it was with her that he learned that he doesn’t have to be perfect at all times and that emotions are a mess and a disaster but that it is worth taking a risk for what you feel. It was also she who taught him what was the pain of a broken heart and the suffering of loss … and the happiness of love.
Lea, for her part, experienced a true, sincere, meaningful, important relationship with Shaun, so important that it was scary because she had to take a leap of faith. She got to know herself much more, her flaws, her virtues and her own feelings and fears, although the road was painful, she would do it all over again because with Shaun she knew what love really means.
THEIR SINCERITY
The first thing Lea knew when she met Shaun was that he was sincere and that was a change. The guys she knew were never sincere, much less as sincere as he was. So she knew that Shaun would always tell her the truth, even if it hurt, he would never lie to her … and he would never intentionally hurt her.
Shaun learned to modulate his sincerity without giving it up and understand a little more the human emotions that were a mystery to him until then. And he also understood that Lea loved him enough to be honest with him about their relationship.
THEIR FEARS
Lea was so afraid of what she felt for Shaun … it really scared her because it was too big, too important, he was … more. And that scared her because more meant commitment, it meant that if it didn’t go well (and she was a mess and Shaun such a perfectionist … they were so different that there was a high probability that nothing would work out) she would never fully recover, it meant risk, it meant that Shaun would have the power to tear her apart … but also to love her. So she did the easy thing: reject him.
Shaun was also afraid of how he felt about Lea. He couldn’t help it. He loved few people in his life: his brother, the one he lost, Dr. Glassman and Lea. He was terrified of losing her, he was afraid of loving her and that she had the power to break his heart and destroy him … so when she did it out of the same fear, he did not know how to react … except by hurting her the same way she did to him.
And that broke them both.
THEIR LOVE
Lea is more to Shaun and he is more to her. That’s all that matters. And when they were about to be lost, when death was too real to think about, all the fears and all the demons went to waste and only what they felt remained.
Shaun had given up and Lea too … until she heard him, until she simply saw everything with a clarity that only an extreme situation gives you and she knew it: they were more and whatever the future held for them. That will not change. She took that leap of faith … and the best part was that he accepted her because he felt the same way. And nothing will change that they are more for each other.
And these are just a few reasons why Shaun and Lea AKA #Shea make us think I will go down with this ship.
