Letitia Wright, famously known for playing Shuri in Black Panther has deleted her Twitter account and we are more than ok with it. Part of it is due to the Twitter reaction, memes, and plays on her name like the one below. People truly are the most creative when someone cancels themselves like Letitia Wright has done.
But us being ok with her disappearing from Twitter doesn’t come from the constant cancel culture when one voices a different opinion than others. We’re ok with Letitia Wright deleting her Twitter because she wasn’t here to have a conversation. She was here to spread her beliefs and tell people what she stood for. Unfortunately she stood for anti-vaxxer bullshit with a side of transphobic nonsense.
A part of us wonders if she even realized what she shared. Sometimes people are guilty of sharing things without fully understanding what they are sharing. That’s why we love the Twitter feature that asks if you’ve read the article you’re about to retweet. Because you shouldn’t believe the headline of the post. You should read it, see if it matches up with your beliefs and go from there.
But even if Wright “accidentally” shared the transphobic part of the video, she sure as hell was ok with the main message of the tweet she shared: that vaccines are a load of bullshit. We know they aren’t and it’s so disheartening to see someone as talented as Letitia Wright shoving her foot into her mouth and talking pure garbage during a time where our country is being crippled by Covid-19 and in need of a vaccine ASAP.
It makes you wonder what other things Letitia is not ok with or what she supports. Because there’s nothing good that follows anti-vaxxer or transphobic beliefs. Seriously, we wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a Trumper that’s ok with kids being in cages because they are here “illegally” even though they crossed the border and sought asylum legally. You never really know when it comes to those who believe they are right no matter how much evidence speaks otherwise and it shows with Letitia Wright…
