We figured it was coming, but we don’t have to like it, do we?
After the series premiere of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, came the confirmation. The episode, titled “Zoey’s Extraordinary Return,” would mark Lauren Graham’s exit as Joan.
Blame COVID. No, really, blame COVID.
TVLine reports that the reason we won’t have more Joan is that the pandemic made it impossible for her to film both Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Disney+’s Mighty Ducks reboot. She had been scheduled to do both, before the pandemic delayed Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.
Can we just say this sucks? I mean, obviously the pandemic sucks, and there have been tons of shows affected. And it does make sense for Zoey to get a promotion – and for Joan to appear less. But we just wanted the possibility of her coming back!
Hopefully this pandemic will end sooner rather than later, and this amazing show will get a third season so we can get excited for Joan to come visit, or something.
