The God of Mischief’s story doesn’t look like it’s ending any time soon. We are pleased to learn that Marvel Studios is already looking ahead to a Season 2 of Loki. Season 1 of Loki will premiere on Disney+ later this year in May.
If Loki‘s first trailer is any hint, it’s no question that this show has more than one season of stories to tell. There are so many possibilities about where this show can take Loki through literal space and time. We’re here for the ride, of course!
This development comes from Deadline’s report that Kevin Feige tapped Michael Waldron, head writer and executive producer of Loki, to pen the script for an upcoming Star Wars movie. Deadline’s sources say Feige will develop and produce the feature film for Lucasfilm and Disney.

Waldron is quickly becoming a massive asset for Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios. Waldron wrote the script for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Deadline notes this is due to a recent deal Waldron signed with Disney. The best part about all of this is this deal “is also expected to bring back Waldron in some capacity for season 2 of Loki.”
This news is the first big information we’ve gotten about Feige’s Star Wars film. It’s also the first reports we’ve heard about Marvel Studios’ Disney+ shows living beyond one season. We already know that Hawkeye is set to be a limited series, as originally reported by Variety. WandaVision feels like a show that could be a limited series.
Alternatively, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier feels like a show that could go on for more than one season. Feige’s confirmation of a six-episode story could just be referring to TFATWS‘ first season, but we’ll have to wait and see. This Loki news makes everything feel a little more possible.
Loki premieres on Disney+ May 2021.
