I feel like all we talked about sometimes is the college admissions scandal. Well that and the pandemic. But both are important, so I am not exactly sure if I am complaining or just pissed that it’s been a year inside my house and I am over it.
But spending all this time in my apartment has given me the chance to watch my ass expand as I watch way too much television. But it has also opened me up to loving documentaries.
And hey, what’s better than a documentary about the college admissions scandal (don’t make one about the pandemic yet, I can’t handle that).
Netflix dropped the trailer for their new documentary Operation Varsity Blues, which offers an inside look at the scandal. It doesn’t only focus on the celebrities, it focuses mostly on the ringleader, Rick Singer and the way that he orchestrated getting kids into the top schools.
The documentary is directed by Chris Smith, who also directed the documentary about the Frye Festival. He was also an executive producer on the Tiger King Netflix series. Love how he’s involved in bringing insight to all the hot messes of our time.
We’re all familiar with the college admissions scandal due to such high profile celebrities as Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli, as well as Felicity Huffman, all being a part of it.
I can’t wait to see this documentary. It’s said to focus on interviews and have the wire tap recordings between Rick and his clients.
Is Operation Varsity Blue a documentary that you will watch?
