It’s been a crazy few hours for Spider-Man fans. The stars of Spider-Man 3 Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon trolled fans yesterday with fake names for the upcoming film. Just like that a new trend was born across Twitter of fans naming Spider-Man 3. WandaVision fans hopped in with the theory that Agatha Harkness could be behind all of this. Honestly, we wouldn’t put it past Agatha.
Nonetheless, Sony squashed the rumors today by confirming that Spider-Man 3 is in fact titled Spider-Man 3: No Way Home. It will be only in theaters this Christmas. The video announcement is especially great, because the cast and director Jon Watts continue to poke fun at Holland’s inability to keep a secret.

We knew that “home” would be in the title, because that’s been the case of all of Holland’s Spider-Man projects. That being said, the titles continue to get more and more ominous. Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn’t have nearly as many nerve-rattling connotations as Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home has them both beat. All of the casting news and rumors paired with the way previous film ended (Mysterio revealing Spider-Man’s true identity to the world) suggests Spider-Man 3 is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Like the title posits, there’s no way to go back to the way things were. We just hope that Peter and his loved ones make it through whatever happens in this movie.
Along with the fake titles, the trio shared very real images from the movie — the first official ones so far. There’s a great chance Peter is going to have to go into hiding, at least somewhat, to adjust to the world’s new view of him and his alias. Why not pick a super creepy room that looks like Agatha’s Harkness’ basement? Take a look:
