Last night, I texted my friend and said that I could somewhat still stand the Queen because at least she was there emotionally for Harry.
I spoke too soon.
I know – hell we all know – that the members of the Royal Family have a lot of people around them orchestrating every movement in their lives. I get that the Royal Family may not know every decision that is made for them. But honestly, if I was the Queen, after the revelations from the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Oprah interview I would be firing people left and right.
In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan announced plans to step back as senior members of the Royal family. In this exclusive clip, they tell @Oprah they were then invited to spend time with his grandmother, the Queen, but the plans abruptly changed citing she’s “busy all week.” pic.twitter.com/dLhq0SAgfN

In a clip from the interview, the two talked about how after they made the decision to step back from their roles as senior working royals, the Queen reversed course on meeting with Harry.
“That announcement that we put out on the 8th of January in 2020,” Harry said to Oprah in the new clip that aired on CBS This Morning. “The contents of that was put into a letter to the institution, to my father [Prince Charles], which was then shared at the end of December while we were in Canada.”
He continued, “And to then, get back on the 6th, after my grandmother had said, ‘The moment you land come up to [Sandringham House estate], we’d love to have a chat. Come for tea, why don’t you stay for dinner?’ “
When the couple arrived back in the United Kingdom from a trip, they received a message from the Queen’s private secretary basically saying, “‘Please pass on to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that he cannot come to Norfolk. The Queen is busy, she’s busy all week.’ “
Ummm say what.
“So I rang her, that night, and said, ‘I was thinking about coming anyway, but I hear you’re now busy.’ And she said ‘Yes, there’s something in my diary that I didn’t know that I had,’ ” continued the prince. “I said, ‘Well, what about the rest of the week?’ She goes, ‘Oh that’s busy now at well.’ Okay, I didn’t want to push because I kind of knew what was going on.’ ” Harry said.
That’s just horrible. But Oprah, like all of us, wondered doesn’t the Queen get to do what the Queen wants to do? I mean, I would think so. But I guess we all would be wrong.
“No,” said Harry. “When you’re head of the firm, there is people around you that give you advice, and what has also made me really sad is that some of that advice has been really bad.”
You can tell that this is all hurting Harry and I really feel for him. This is still his family and I can’t even imagine how hard it is on him.
“That was such an important story to be shared, last night. I think the stories about blindsiding the Queen were very, very damaging to them and hurtful. … There had been months and months of preparation.” Oprah said on CBS This Morning. I can’t even imagine.
Did you watch the interview? What are your thoughts?
