There are a lot of things that I don’t own – a car, a diamond ring, a house. Like you get it – lots of things. But as I write this, I am staring at my two iPhone, iPad, and this computer and thinking about how accessible I really am.
But then again, when I think about getting rid of any of these things, I practically get hives because I like all my gadgets and gizmos. But Justin Bieber got rid of his in order to set boundaries.
I mean, I am not good at boundaries, so I know that this isn’t a possibility for me yet. Talk to me in a year.
In an an interview with Billboard the singer talked about how he communicates through an iPad. It helps him set limits on who he talks to.
“I definitely learned how to have boundaries, and I just don’t feel like I owe anybody anything,” Bieber told the magazine. “That has helped me to be able to just say no and just be firm in it and know that my heart [wants] to help people, but I can’t do everything. I want to sometimes, but it’s just not sustainable.”
That’s fair. And actually getting rid of all of this would probably be a lot better for my mental health.
He sets more boundaries by getting up at 8am and signing off from work at 6pm, devoting all time after 6pm to his wife. Damn, I love their love. They cute. He gets up in the AM and talks to his management team to see what he may have missed overnight.
Could you get rid of your cell phone? What do you think?
