She’s All That was one of my favorite movies, so I am excited for the remake with a new gender-swapped take. The new spin will be told from a teenage girl’s point of view. Netflix announced the big news yesterday.
The movie, which stars Tik-Tok star Addison Rae was penned by R. Lee Fleming, the screenwriter behind the classic 1999 movie.
The film also stars Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan and original star Rachael Leigh Cook, who is taking on a new role in this movie.
Addison plays Padgett Sawyer, inspired by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Zackary Siler role from the original. The contemporary story follows an influencer (Rae) who accepts a challenge to turn the school’s biggest loser (Buchanan) into prom king.
Also behind the movie are the original producers, Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay.
In addition to Rae also starring in He’s All That are Madison Pettis, Peyton Meyer, Isabella Crovetti, Annie Jacob, Myra Molloy, and She’s All That original star Matthew Lillard will also be in the film.
Netflix will release the movie later this year.
