We missed this news and we’re sorry for that. Someone should have told us that a sequel to Stargirl was coming.
We’re excited for it.
The sequel has added a big name. Uma Thurman will be playing Roxanne Martel, a musician Stargirl admires and encounters on her journey.
Returning for the second film includes star Grace VanderWaal and director Julia Hart, who will this time be joined by actor Elijah Richardson. Elijah was seen in When They See Us and is set to play the new romantic lead.
The second film is written by Julia Hart and Jordan Horowitz, who co-wrote the first movie with Kirsten Hahn, “have written the original script that follows Stargirl’s journey out of Mica and into a bigger world of music, dreams and possibility,” THR says.
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman of Gotham Group return as producers while Horowitz will produce for Hart & Horowitz’s company Original Headquarters.
